Managing your saved addresses
Saved addresses are the start and end points for pickup routes, the drop-off for deliveries, and the places your search area is built from. They live under Account → Addresses. Your seller locations are a separate thing, managed under Selling.
Prerequisites
None — the first address you save automatically becomes your default.
- 1Go to Account → Addresses and tap Add an address.
- 2Search for and pick the address.
- 3Tap what the place is: Home, Farm, Work, Second home, Parents, Gym, School, Vacation or Other. That choice is the name, and it sets the icon.
- 4If you picked Other, choose an icon for it. The eight named presets bring their own.
- 5Turn on Make this my default address if you want it used first for new baskets and deliveries. Your first saved address is always the default, and this is locked on.
- 6Turn on Part of my search area if you want EZHomesteading to look for sellers around this address.
- 7Under Where does it go?, pick whether it is a stop on your regular drives, which existing stop it replaces, or your new home base.
- 8Tap Save address.
What to expect
Once you have an address we can map, a map sits above your cards with a pin for each one and your search area shaded underneath, so you can see which addresses fall inside it. Tapping a pin highlights that address's card; tapping an address's icon moves the map to it. Under the map, Edit search area opens the area editor — or Set a search area if you have not set one yet.
Each card shows a Default badge when it is the one in use, and Home base or On your route when the address is part of your search area. Those two badges are buttons: tapping either one opens the area editor.
Your search area holds three addresses at most — one home base at its centre, and up to two stops along drives you make regularly. When all three are taken, turning on Part of my search area asks which of the two stops this address replaces. Making an address your home base moves the whole area, so it confirms first; your radius and your stops carry over unchanged.
An address EZHomesteading could not map shows a warning, gets no pin, and can neither start a pickup route nor join your search area. Edit it and re-pick the location from the search results.
Editing reuses the same form, with Save changes. Deleting always asks you to confirm, and what it warns about depends on the address's role in your search area:
- An address that is not part of your area is simply removed.
- A stop: we stop looking along the drive to it. Your home circle is unchanged.
- Your home base, when you have other addresses saved: you have to pick which one takes over before the delete goes through.
- Your home base, when it is your only saved address: your search area goes with it, and you will be asked to set a new one the next time you sign in.
