Setting up your store
Selling takes three things: a store, hours, and payouts. The whole setup is about six minutes, and you can list goods before you finish all of it — you just cannot get paid until payouts are connected.
- 1Create your store. Name it, give it an address, and say whether you sell by pickup or by delivery.
- 2Set your hours on the schedule. Paint the windows when you can actually hand goods over, and set the lead time you need before any handoff.
- 3Connect payouts. Stripe runs a quick identity check as part of this.
Prerequisites
Have your bank details and a government ID to hand before starting the payouts step. Stripe asks for both, and stopping halfway means coming back to it.
What to expect
Your store's address is where buyers come to, or where deliveries go out from, so it needs to be the real one.
Pickup or delivery is a property of the store rather than a per-order choice. Buyers see which one applies before they add anything to a basket.
If you sell at a farmers market, you can attach your store to it and use the market's hours instead of painting your own.
