I've made sales but no money has arrived
Symptoms
Orders are being completed but nothing has reached your bank. Your setup may even show a payout account already exists, which makes it look like this step was finished.
Cause
Creating a store starts a payout account for you automatically. That account existing is not the same as it being usable — it starts empty, and no money can move until you have submitted your details to Stripe and they have cleared their identity check.
There are four states it can be in, and only the last one pays out:
- Not started — no account yet.
- Ready — the account exists but you have not entered anything into it. This is the one that gets mistaken for done.
- In review or more info needed — Stripe has your details and either is checking them or has come back asking for something.
- Enabled — payouts work.
Fix
Open the payouts step in your seller setup and look at which of those four it reports. If it says anything other than enabled, the step is not finished.
Work through Stripe's form to the end. It asks for bank details and a government ID, and closing it partway leaves the account in Ready — exactly where it started.
If Stripe has come back asking for more information, that request is what is blocking every payout on the account, not just the order you are looking at. Clear it and the queued transfers follow.
If it says enabled and money still has not landed, allow for your bank's normal transfer time before treating it as a fault.
