How you get paid
EZHomesteading takes a commission out of what a buyer pays, and sends the rest to your bank through Stripe. There is no separate charge to you beyond that.
The commission is 10%
The platform commission is 10% of the order subtotal, rounded to the nearest cent, with no fixed per-order fee on top. A $40 order carries a $4 commission; you keep $36 of it. Buyers pay no separate platform fee — the price you set is the price they pay.
What Money looks like on your board
Your seller board's Money section shows three figures: Available (cleared funds Stripe can pay out now), On the way (payouts already sent but not yet landed), and your total for the last 7 days. Those figures only appear once your Stripe account is connected — before that, the board says "Payout figures appear once your Stripe account is connected."
Payouts, worded plainly
Each individual payout Stripe sends shows one of these statuses:
- Deposited — the money has arrived.
- On its way — Stripe is transferring it.
- Scheduled — queued for a future date.
- Canceled
- Failed — something stopped it. A failed payout carries a note with what to fix; if Stripe did not supply one, it reads "The transfer did not go through."
Each row also shows the destination — usually your bank name and the last four digits of the account, or "your bank account" if that detail is not available.
When money actually lands
Getting paid takes two things: an order that has been picked up (or delivered) and completed, and a Stripe payout account that is fully connected, not just started. Creating a store starts that account automatically, but it stays unusable until you finish Stripe's own setup steps — see "Connect your payout account" for that flow.
