How delivery orders work

Whether an order is pickup or delivery is set by the seller's store, not something you choose at checkout — so you already know which one applies before you add anything to your basket. Once you have a delivery order, a few things in the order chat work differently than a pickup.

The order chat is labelled for delivery

Instead of "Pickup location" and "Pickup time," a delivery order's chat and order details show "Delivery address" and "Delivery time." The header reads "Delivery set for…" once a time is agreed, rather than "Pickup set for…"

You confirm delivery, not the seller marking it ready

A pickup order is charged when the seller marks it ready. A delivery order works the other way: on the scheduled day, the action is yours to take — "Confirm delivery received — this pays the seller." Nothing is paid out until you confirm it arrived.

There's no pickup trip route for delivery

The "Pickup trip" link that shows up on a pickup order's chat, mapping out your stops for the day, only appears for pickup orders — there is nothing to drive to on a delivery, so it never shows.
