My order is stuck on "Awaiting seller"

Symptoms

You checked out and the order still reads Awaiting seller. Nothing is scheduled, your card shows a pending hold that has not turned into a charge (or, on an order for a date far ahead, a deposit charge), and the seller has not replied in the order chat.

Cause

An order sits at Awaiting seller until the seller responds to it. Checkout does not schedule a time, and on an ordinary order it does not charge your card. An order for a date far ahead is the exception: its deposit is charged right away.

Most of the time the seller simply has not opened the app yet. Small stands are run by one person around the rest of their day, and the order is waiting on them to say when they can do the handoff.

On an ordinary order, the pending amount on your statement is the authorization hold from checkout. It is not a charge, and it is released if the order never goes ahead. On an order for a date far ahead, the deposit is a real charge. It is refunded in full if the seller cancels or never answers in time.

Fix

Propose a time yourself rather than waiting to be offered one. Open the order, pick a slot from what the seller's schedule allows, and send it — that gives them one tap to accept instead of a decision to make.

Check the earliest time you are able to propose. If it is several days out, the seller's lead time or their open hours are the constraint, not their attention.

If you need the order to go away, cancel it from the order itself; you do not need the seller to act first. Cancelling releases the hold. On an order for a date far ahead, your own cancel keeps the deposit.

If a seller repeatedly leaves orders unanswered, report them from their store page so it is visible to us rather than only to you.
