Co-op or Grower — choosing your store's role

Every store picks a role when it is created, and that choice shapes how buyers reach you: whether they come to you, or you go to them. The setup screen puts it plainly — "Choose how your location works — it shapes checkout and pickup."

Co-op Location

A Co-op Location is described as "A farm-stand grocery — source from local growers (and optionally sell your own harvest) and sell to individual buyers." Buyers come to your address to collect what they ordered.

Your store's address is the one buyers pick up from, and it is also where any growers you source from drop off their own deliveries to you.

Grower Location

A Grower Location is described as "Sell your harvest in bulk to local co-ops — no small orders or buyers coming to your door." Instead of buyers visiting you, you deliver.

Your store's address here is the one you bring your harvest out from — it is where you deliver bulk orders from, not a place buyers ever see in person.

It's set once, at store creation

The role is a required step when you create a store, and it applies to the whole store rather than to individual listings or orders. If your farm needs to operate both ways — a stand buyers visit and a bulk grower relationship — that takes two separate store locations, each with its own role.
